Now that we will be moving to New Zealand next month I need to find someone to buy the car that I thought so long and hard about around this time last year. The only problem is that no one seems to want to pay me what it's worth. I've had adds out for over a week in the local paper, buy and sell, and carzone, and the best "offer" I've gotten is €6000 for a car that is worth €10000. What the hell?!?! In fairness, I didn't really expect to get €10000 for it, but I thought a real offer might start at €9000. I'm really not sure what I'll do if I can't get it sold soon. Any ideas?

Right then, 2004 micra.

Have a look at other such cars in the 'buy and sell' and in the paper. You'll only get the same as what everyone else is asking for.

I took a look in the buy and sell just now and there are 04 micras for 8 grand.

Also, remember it's christmas time and everyones either thinking of shopping for turkey or else they will be planning to upgrade their car in jan. What that means is that there will be not too many interested in thinking of cars right now, and worse still there will be loads of cars like this handed over to garages in part exchange for an 07. A week later these cars will be in the small ads papers.

The laws of supply and demand don't favour you right now.

Having said that there are SSIA's maturing all the time now and you'll only need one guy/girl to buy it from you.

Hmmm..... ask for 9 ONO (or nearest offer) and see what happens.

When do you need to sell by?

Also, if you'll letting some guy test drive it, go with him. You'd be surprised the number of people who have the car driven away for a test drive never to return.

Best of luck.

Since moving to New Zealand we've bought about three(?) cars and all of them through Turners Auctions, a place I mentioned in the new Zealand thread. The latest is a japanese imported Nissan Lafesta, a seven seater. We needed to buy a people mover because Tara's parents and her friend are coming over in January and we plan some road trips.

One awesome thing is that the roof is almost entirely a moonroof, meaning more light. Yes, a moonroof, not a sunroof. (description). Basically, at the press of a button by the driver, the normal roof slides away revealing just a glass roof.

I like it and its awesome for packing people in to go to the cinema for example

Man I just bought a 12 person TENT. Our goals are different but our priorities are the same.

I promise you, sexy women are not impressed by seven-seat vehicles.

Gah, I can't find the webcomics thread.

I GIS'd for about five minutes trying to find some photos of those sexy car show women in or around a seven seater car but gave up. I'm sure they are out there though, so in its place here's a Hale and Pace sketch
