Probably the most boring comment on the whole site, but here goes: we do use credit rating in Ireland, and it works broadly the same way. Most of us only become aware of its existence when you apply for a loan/mortgage. Your rating is managed by a central body with which the financial institutes share data; for about €6 you can request your rating.

Ayyo, where my like button at?

There's a difference though: Google -- along with a few others -- is pervasive. Sure, lots of companies are spying on me (bitbuzz can track your movements pretty good too, in cities anyway), but Google are on another level. The quantitative difference is sufficient to make a major qualitative difference.

Nah, books haven't gone away, you know. Well done on getting the publishing deal, I look forward to seeing it - is it to be timed for Christmas, or nearer to Dublin's 100th anniversary*, or something else?
* I think it was called Kingspale or something before Pearse, Connolly, et al hurled the little streets upon the great. -
I just noticed the author of Tine Chnamh is the enigmatic P. O'Neill.
Probably not this P. O'Neill, right? -
I guess we're not gonna get this done before season 4 arrives. Damn.

I also am sad and checked the boards on Christmas Day. Merry aforementioned festive holiday time, all!

Byzantium (2012)
A fantastic looking poster, decent cast, some great looking sets and costumes ... and that's it. Yes, there were "genre clichés", but these could possibly have been forgiven if only there was a plot worth caring about. Sorely lacking in pace, but of course how could there be anything resembling a sense of urgency when the characters appeared to be going nowhere? I don't think this would entertain teenage girls either. Maybe teenage girls on valium? Pretty poor fare. 1/5 because I'm sure there was some redeeming feature in it that escapes me right now. -
Who would've guessed that Walt was Jesse's father?

Well of course we're not, but aping one's betters is surely the path to glory, or at least competence, right?
It's like admin'ing unix boxes and not being able to use vi. Or ... -
Bah! No real chef would use cling film! Sunday week I'll spend some time making poached eggs the proper way and report my results.
As for kitchen shears - scissors, ladies - I'm sure they have uses in some extreme conditions, but I haven't found a case where a knife isn't the correct tool. -
Using a cling filim baggie to make a poached egg is like using scissors instead of a knife to cut meat.

QUOTE... that lad who play Jesus in The Passion of The Christ ...
Jim Caviezel! See also: The Thin Red Line and, please, no Rowan Atkinson misreferences.
Edit: Caviezel seems like a kinda awful guy. -
A straightdope article where he talks about how bad ketchup is ... on hotdogs? To call the hotdog the poor cousin of the sausage is unjustifiably charitable. The hotdog is the worst of the worst - have you seen how those things are made? So no, I can't take his gastronomic opinions seriously.
Hey, here's the Roux brothers making mayonnaise, man, watching this makes me feel completely incompetent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQgIOEBINCM . Yes, I have tried; no, it didn't work out like this.

Good site, that rouxbe.com .
What's wrong with ketchup on a burger though? And did you make your own mayonnaise? -
QUOTEI have no doubt that in the weekly hour-long IT classes that every school probably has ... half the kids are smugly displaying the most graphic, sickening images on the screen and daring each other to find worse.
Amazingly, in this country this very scenario was imagined by the relevant govt. departments before broadband was rolled out to schools. As such, the connections provided to schools are filtered. Like any system, filtering is imperfect. It's pretty good though, and the vast bulk of traffic is fairly innocuous, or even educational. -

Trance (2013)
Art heist film featuring dreams, hypnosis, and plot twists that might be fascinating if only the film was engaging enough that you'd give a shit. Ending might be fantastic, didn't bother to stick around to find out. Not Danny Boyle's finest.
