Actually, to me it was like this

After pirates in general got such a big popularity boost from the "..of the Caribbean" franchise, it was only a matter of time before this Sid Meier (of Civilisation fame) classic got renewed, rewritten and repackaged. I remember playing the original on the C64 and Amiga, and loving it to pieces. The remake has done a good job of keeping the play the same while completely updating the graphics and game engine. Swordfights, sea battles, treasure hunts and ballroom dances are all beautifully realised.

My verdict, Yarr.

Earthling, you can select different player skins at the start, each with different abilities. Examples: the cop has body armour and access to police cars and swat vans. The mexican has great weapons, and the sailor regenerates health (!?).

Some other great features aswell, but shooting from cars still disabled.

Thats about all the permutations out of the way, unless you can mix and match - like "Gimp with a Lump"
